2011 has started off with a bang for us here at the NE!
With RT! landing two consecutive #1′s on Much to Marc André’s video for smash hit “Stereo Love” reaching over 10 million views on YouTube, we thought we would put together a newsletter filled with updates such as accomplishments and nominations to projects coming out in the near future.

All In A Hard’s Day Work

The NE’s director RT! and producer Rory Halsall recently flew to LA to work on another project with the boys of Neverest and Howie D of the Backstreet Boys.
While shooting they were paid a visit from the MusicMatrix.com girls. Hard work pays off!

Here’s our top 10 list of noteworthy accomplishments this year :
1. The NE Inc takes over MUCH Music!! On MUCH Music’s top 50 videos of 2010, The NE represented with Marc André Debruyne’s video “Stereo Love” for Edward Maya ft. Mia Martina (#29) & RT!’s video “Electric/ Night Like This” for Shawn Desman (#33). AND -for the week of December 10, 2010 the NE had 4 videos in the top 10 of the MUCHMusic countdown and 7 in total of the Top 30! Unreal!!!
2. Cazhhmere’s video for Classified’s “Oh Canada” made the “YOUTUBE REWIND – Top 10 most watched videos in Canada” list. check the link:
3. at the 2010 Much Music Video Awards, RT! is awarded the 9th MMVA of his career for Belly’s “Hot Girl ft Snoop Dogg” (Best Rap Video of The Year)
4. The NE shot videos across the globe this year.
- RT! shot in Vegas and Vancouver
- Marc André shot in Halifax, Vegas and in Mexico
- Cazhhmere shot in the Dominican Republic and Halifax
- and Sean Wainsteim shot in Puné India.
5. Short films from the NE roster (Sean Wainsteim’s “Lost For Words” and Sara St.Onge’s “Turkey”) were showcased at the following film festivals:
Toronto (TIFF) 2010
Halifax (AFF) 2010
Sudbury (CineFEST) 2010
Miami (MIFF) 2010
St.Louis (SLIFF) 2010
and we will be screening in Victoria (VIFF) in 2011, as well as a few other festivals we’re not allowed to mention just yet! New shorts will start hitting festivals in 2011 as well including Jeff Campagna’s “The Day The Old Man Knocked” and RT!’s “Neutered”.
6. The NE’s 2nd Annual ART OF MUSIC VIDEO featured stills taken from a years worth of videos and films during the NXNE 2010 music festival and as a lead up to the 2010 MMVAs. (And an exclusive NE video showcase also made the NXNE 2010 official program).
7. Cazhhmere won the 2010 REELWorld Film festival’s BEST MUSIC VIDEO for Josh Martinez’s “Going Back to Hali ft. Classified”
8. Marc André’s video for Edward Maya ft Mia Martinez “Stereo Love” is currently sitting at 4.5 MILLION views on youtube. WOW.
9. We produced in excess of 45 music videos this year… Belly, Jay Malinowski, VV Brown, Shawn Desman, Keshia Chanté, YSP, Danny Fernandes, DRU, Classified, Wintersleep, JDiggz, NWL, D-Sisve, JRDN, Amanda Morra and the list goes on and on.
and finally…
10. The family grew a little bigger recently. Marc André and his wife Tamara recently had a baby girl!!!!! Minako Thérese Debruyne is the newest member of the fam.

BIG Fall Update…

SHORT FILM ACTION…
- Jeff Campagna just finished “THE DAY THE OLD MAN KNOCKED” a couple days ago. Look for release in early 2011… but for the time being check out the poster below!
- Sara St.Onge’s “Turkey” premiered at TIFF 2010 as part of 2 sold out short film programs. It then ventured north to Sudbury for CineFEST and is currently enjoying a festival run before broadcast begins next year. Check out the trailer at… www.thene.ca
- Sean Wainsteim’s “Lost For Words” premiered at AFF in Halifax this September and is following up with screenings in Miama (MIFF2010) and St. Louis (SLIFF2010) this month. Check out the trailer at… www.lostforwords.ca
- RT!’s short film “Neutered” is just finishing up post production and should be screening in the new year

Both RT! and Charles Officer were mentors for the CITY LIFE FILM PROJECT (Temple Street Productions / The Remix Project) which has been shot and is in full post production mode. This is going to make a lot of noise in 2011.
