Biography

Director, writer and editor, Chris Strikes is a young multi talent that has been apart of the NE family many for years, even before directing.

Born in Toronto’s west end, Chris developed an interest for film and video production during high school.  While attending college for broadcast and film, Chris also worked on music video sets of multi-awarding winning director RT!, Cazhmere, and world re-known Director X. It wasn’t before long when Chris Strikes started directing and shooting his own music videos, commercial spots and in 2009 his first documentary entitled T.O. To D.C.: The Journey To Barack Obama’s Inauguration.

At an early stage of his career, Chris has already had the chance to work on projects for the likes of Nelly Furtado, Alicia Keys, Usher, Kardinal Offishall, Jarvis Church, reggae recording artist Sizzla, Massari, Canadian national soccer star Julian De Guzman, Fefe Dobson and Degrassi’s Luke Bilyk.  In 2010, Chris directed shot and edited Ray J’s “Celebration” music video featuring Ludacris. At the end of that year and the beginning of 2011, Chris assisted Hollywood director Clark Johnson as an intern on the King TV series.  (Clark is known for films including S.W.A.T. and The Sentinel; as well as TV series including Homicide and The Wire).

Beyond music videos, Chris Strikes has also delved into narrative story telling having written two short films, The French Disconnection and Occupy, which are both slated for production in 2012.
