Biography

Weintrob recently completed his short film, The ONE LAST TIME. The film features Hakeem Kae Kazim (24/X-Men: Wolverine) and screened at festivals including London, Cannes and Foyle – the film was presented with the Best Director Award at the Las Vegas Film Festival.

He is currently in production on the new campaign for Volvo through Arnold.  The new Global Campaign is a high action rebranding of Volvo for Television and Cinema.

Weintrob directed Top Gear for the BBC and the pilot for NBC.  Top Gear was awarded an International Emmy, Bafta and Royal Television Society Award, has a worldwide audience of 350 million and plays in over 100 countries.

He directed Megadrive for MTV, the 12 new episode stunt comedy show will air this fall.

His short film Breathe was selected by the MVPA (Music Video Producers Alliance) for the prestigious Directors Cuts, showcasing the most impressive pieces of work made by music video directors.

As a music video director, Weintrob has worked with a vast array of global artists and record labels, including Elbow (V2), Graham Coxon/Blur (EMI/ Parlophone), Faithless (Sony/BMG), The Music (Virgin) and Our Lady Peace (Sony/BMG).

Weintrob has worked with a range of brands including Aston Martin, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Ford, Mazda, Renault, Land Rover, Honda, Porsche, Subaru, Nissan, Ferrari, Scion, Toyota, BMW and GM.

Weintrobs formative years saw him work as a photographer’s assistant at the famous East London Click Studios where he assisted fashion photographers, such as Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Albert Watson, Rankin and David Simms for magazines including Vogue, Dazed and Confused, ID and The Face.

After studying film, Weintrob was selected by the Fuji Film Scholarship to direct a short script. His film was presented with the most celebrated award, entitled the Theatrical Release Award. The award toured the film around Europe.

Weintrob spent two years shadowing the director Mike Figgis (Leaving Las Vegas, One Night Stand, Timecode).
